In My Little World

This morning, among many other things, I am grateful for the following:

1. That first sip of hot coffee first thing in the morning. Even though I may only be half awake, I love the ritual of preparing Mr. Coffee, pressing the ON button, and listening to the delightful gurgle. Even A. knows that in our little world, coffee comes first.

2. Vicks Vapor Rub. Apparently, I am turning into my grandmother. A. has had a lung hacking cough and nothing is really helping. This morning I lathered her chest with some Vicks hoping the menthol vapors will work some magic. I'm also thankful for soap, water, Clorox wipes, Purell, baby wipes, Lysol and Kleenex. Sometimes a 4 year old is a walking petri dish.

3. SuperWhy on PBS. So I can blog, that's why.

One more thing, I have a new obsession of late. Sign me up as Real Life Testimonial, Not an Actress, for the next late night infomercial because I am in love with Proactiv. It's true, I'm hooked, and not just to be like Jessica Simpson or Jennifer Love Hewitt either. Or P. Diddy.

As an, shall we say, older person still dealing with breakouts, I was desperate. And angry.

It's working y'all. Really.

  1. I love Proactiv, too!!! When I was teaching school, I had more acne than my 14 yr-olds. Proactiv did the trick.

"A 4 yr old is a walking petri dish" hahahaha! That's so funny and so TRUE. Mimi is a snot-machine right now.

  2. It really does work? I remember saying back in the day "Hey! I'm 25 and I still break out...why???" and now I'm saying "Hey! I'm 32 and I still break out...why??" So I might just hop on the Proactiv Bandwagon.

  3. We have serious stashes of Clorox wipes and Purell at our house too. Love 'em.

  4. I would gladly trade your blemishes for my freckles. Blemishes can be treated. Freckles multiply.

And yes, children are walking petri dishes. Very excellent analogy!

  7. Love this post!
Mostly because I have to blog during superwhy too! And I love that they teach them the sounds that the letters make...it's awesome.
I've given up on having good skin. I think i'm doomed.
I also like vicks...it's the best stuff ever! We're all walking petri dishes at our house too!
Sorry we're not the only ones.

  8. James LOVES SuperWhy as well. It is the first show he's ever responded verbally to. :)

It was good to hear from you!

p.s. Your blog looks great! I don't know if you changed it or if it's my new browser, but it looks really nice this way. :)

  9. As an esthetician...in my former life...Proactive often works for people. If for some reason it stops working, go off of it for about a week or two, then start back on it. Sometimes your skin needs a little break after about six months on a product. I hate over 30 breakouts!!! (I can say that now that I'm 30 and still breaking out!)

  10. Walking petri dish, yes indeed!

I'm glad Proactiv is working for you. I tried it once a few years ago and it ate my face alive. Maybe I'll try Vicks VapoRub next. :)
