A Gazebo, A Girl...and Some Turtles

Excuse me, you want to do what exactly Mama? Take pictures for a Christmas Card? Hmmm...

Didn't we do this yesterday after we saw The Nutcracker? Oh yes, your battery died just as I smiled my best smile in my itchy dress. So we have to try again today? Okay, but I'm wearing my comfy cotton dress, k?

Sorry, something just struck me as hilarious.

Remember, I'm 4.

Yes Ma'am, I am.

Um, can we go see the turtles again? PL-U-U-EE-SE?

Thanks

No less than 3 trips to the gazebo, 2 costume changes, 1 bow emergency, 4 turtle sightings, and 90+ pictures snapped=
a couple of contenders for our holiday card this year.

None of these made the cut, but thankfully, I did end up with a few good shots. They are now ordered and I will be anxiously checking the mailbox for their arrival. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?

  1. We took ours today, too! We'll be last-minute pals. I love the phrase "bow emergency." I think every single mother of a little girl knows EXACTLY what that means!

  9. Taking the Christmas card picture is a horrific experience every year. I'm always glad when it's over. But it's always worth it in the end when you get some really cute ones and these turned out adorable!

  10. Ha! After all my costume making, picture planning, blah blah blah...I ended up snapping pics of my darlings playing in the leaves in the front yard. I decided to choose the pics for the cards that most showed my sweeties' personalities this year instead of working SO hard! Ha! We'll see...they're ordered too!

  11. I love the pics of A. taking her Christmas card picture. They truly capture her fun personality. I know what you mean about taking Christmas pics, at least one of my kids ends up not smiling at the same time as the other (taking pictures of two kids for Christmas pictures is doubly horrendous!) Anyway, you're way ahead of the game than me on the Christmas cards--I haven't even ordered mine yet! Yikes!

  12. Last minute over here too! Mine arrived this weekend but are waiting for me to get to work.

Your daughter is so cute, I'm sure the card would look great even with her tongue sticking out!

  20. Love it! Isn't it great to have a digital? I was thinking about that the other day...when we used film. How do I know that the 50 pics I just took are good? YOU DON'T! We are so blessed to have good cameras that take priceless pictures for us! And you're little A is precious!

    Love ya..
