No Sudden Movements Please

This video has been making its way around the web, so you may have already seen it. Let me just say, having just completed this feat, this video is right on the money. Well, I wouldn't know about the last guy's problem, but still...

Monday morning A. bumped her arm and was crying in her room upstairs. Marathon Mom (me) actually asked her to come DOWN so I could comfort her. Proud mom moment, but stairs are NOT my friend right now.

Tuesday has been worse than Monday. I keep muttering, "My quads, my quads, why hast thou forsaken me?" I am hoping tomorrow will be better. I should have tried to at least walk or do the elliptical today, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Thursday I will ask more of my legs. Right now sitting for the potty is painful, so I'm just trying to survive!

  1. I haven't seen that video yet, it's really funny! So sorry that you're feeling the pain right now but yeah, I guess you can be thankful that you don't have bleeding hoohas like the last guy. Yeeeouch!

I just cracked myself up, by the way! It's late.

  3. I love this video. The crazy thing is, I remember that pain and thinking, "Wow, I don't know if I ever want to run again." But then I remembered finishing and what an amazing accomplishment it was and that I could finally say, "I am a marathon runner" and suddenly, the pain didn't bother me so much.

  6. This is the part that makes me NOT want to run a marathon. Ugh.

Maybe a massage? Would that feel good?

    You are awesome.

  10. Oh, that is HILARIOUS. I've been working out with a trainer, and that is EXACTLY how I'm walking right now. And what you said about "my quads, my quads..." is so good. Very funny.

  11. I hate my stairs on a good day and I don't have the excuse of having just run a marathon! Motrin, hot baths, and lots of chocolate. That's my prescription!

  12. A friend of mine started working out with a trainer recently, and we went Christmas shopping and it was like going with a very old lady. She was so pitifully sore and slow.

Take it easy on yourself, and I hope you start feeling better soon.

  13. I loved that video after the marathon. It is exactly what you feel like. It took me a good week before I did any other running or training of any kind. Give yourself a much needed break!

  14. I think that video is hysterical, and think it's an elite group of people who know that pain for themselves, so congrats to you!

I hope your muscles forgive you soon.

  15. ooooh- i remember that pain. i am guilty of the not going up or down stairs to save myself, too. :) it should start to feel better soon- go to the pool. i think of all things, that's what makes things feel better fastest- and you can go through all the motions without the impact.

  17. That was so so funny. My favorite is the girl who can't cross the crosswalk and the guy with the bleeding nipples. Didn't one of the guys on the show "The Office" have that problem? SO FUNNY!!!!

Hope you're feeling better by now!
