Why, hello there friend!
As my grandmother used to say, "If I'da known you were comin' I'da baked a cake." But I've got fresh coffee ready. Come on in...I heard you ring the bell, then I heard our dog Sadie bark her fur off, so I knew somebody had come for a visit. Don't worry, Sadie is beyond friendly. Nah, you don't have to take your shoes off. With two cats, one dog, one four year old and one husband, what's the point?
Next time you visit, just come to the back door, K? We're all friends here. Oh, yeah, you can ring the cowbell back there. That will make Sadie bark too. She is our third doorbell, and is louder than all of them. We love her though.
This old cowbell hangs beside our back door. It's special because it belonged to my grandparents and used to hang beside their back door. My grandfather made the post it hangs on from a tree branch. Isn't that funny? I love to hear it clang-ity-clang!
Come back anytime!
Pop over to Lelly's blog to find out other door habits.
I love, love, love the cow bell. How great you got it from your grandparents!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute. And I must get me one of them bells (and a dog)! Also, just thought I'd let you know that I'm starting out easy and training for a 5k. It, the training, is kicking my butt! Oh, how far it's fallen in four years. *B
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you have a cow bell! When we moved to Boston our house had a side door. I was so surprised when everyone would use that door. Even the UPS guy. I thought it was reserved for good friends only but I guess I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteThis topic has been so interesting to see so many doors- and that so many have more than 1!
ReplyDeleteI love your cowbell, what a sweet thing to have.
Looks very welcoming and friendly. And I love the sentimental cow bell!
ReplyDeletei love your front door, and the cowbell, too!
ReplyDeletekeep the coffee fresh! you just never know when i might pop by...
I think the cowbell is great. How awesome to have something that belonged to your grandparents. We wanted to carry on the tradition of my husband's grandparents by having our last name display somewhere on our porch, but that has yet to happen. Good for you that you've carried on the cowbell tradition.
ReplyDeleteI now this was about your "door" technically, but we just "met" and I gotta say that I love your hair cute. SO adorable!
ReplyDeleteNow, I do love that cowbell too!
You look so cute in those photos, makes me want to cut my hair Holly! Your french doors are very inviting and the cow bell, just makes it even more homie!
ReplyDeleteMy friends always hear me say: "If you want to see me, stop by anytime. If you want to see my house, make an appointment." That's life with 3 young kids--not always presentable.
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute! Gotta love the cow bell. Hee hee - makes me think of that SNL skit with Will F*errel and Christopher W*alken.
