What Does This Say About Me?

A.) It's true, don't shop when you are hungry. Especially after a workout at the Y.

B.) I like variety and quantity in my low calorie frozen treats.

C.) Someone hopes the sheer volume of said treats will be overlooked by the ground white turkey, tuna, whole wheat english muffins, milk, Fiber One cereal, yogurt, apples, bananas, strawberries and salad that are scanned first.

D.) I am slightly OCD since I group my items on the check out belt in like categories.

E.) All of the above.

What does your shopping cart say about you?

  1. I am now eating my second 100 calorie pack cookies in a row. They sort of lose their effectiveness if eaten in bulk...

  2. Mine says that I am fat.
No, really, I buy lots of fresh fruits and veggies....and I LOVE those skinny cows!!!

I noticed you are reading Lee Smith. I LOVED Southern Lit in college and read a lot of Smith. Great reads!

  4. I think the best part of this whole post is that you actually took a picture of your groceries AT THE STORE. Other customers must have been looking at you like you were crazy, but I LOVE IT!

  5. Mine says I have a big family these days! I can hardly believe all of the stuff I have to buy these days! Who knew that one day I'd be a 2 gallon of milk per week kind of family.

  6. I buy most of those same things. Love fiber one bars a.k.a. Fart bars.

And I love those casadian farms ones too. They're only two points without the horrible "effect"! ha ha ha

  7. I organize my cart, and I load the checkout counter in a specific way: all the heavy stuff first, so it goes into my car first. My cart says I like snacks. A lo of snacks.

  9. I guess I am OCD as well, because I group the groceries on the conveyer belt into produce sections, frozen, boxed, etc. I also tend to stock up on a ton of low-fat (low-point) sweet snacks so as to feel like I have some kind of choice when I am following Weight Watchers. I guess great minds think alike! ;)

  11. Too funny, Holly. I always put my fresh fruits, veggies, etc (i.e. healthy stuff) on the belt last so that the person behind me thinks I eat healthy. Is that nutso or what - why do I care what the stranger behind me thinks I eat?

  12. That seriously could be my exact cart load of groceries! I buy all those foods. In fact I am eating a Skinny Cow sandwich right now. YUM. My workout was 1.5 hrs this morning. I figure I deserve this puppy.

  17. I think what it says about you is that you're a blogger. Anyone who takes pictures of their groceries AT THE STORE, on the conveyor belt...well, that's all we need to know. We like her.

  18. You are SO very much more organized than I am:

    - you had a camera with you (I don't even know where ours is!)
    - your items are organized on the belt (I fling mine onto the belt in a desparate attempt to keep items from getting grabbed by my children and squashed, broken, eaten or tossed onto the floor!)
    - you were able to think about taking said picture while in line at the grocery store (I'm to busy thinking - discount card, credit card, do I still have my keys, did I hand the gal my reusable bags, is my son still in the cart, is my daughter still strapped to my back, did I get everything that I wrote on the list, how could I have forgotten the FIRST item on the list?!)
Enjoy your groceries - the healthy stuff isn't worth all the hard work and recipe searches unless you can have a little bit of a treat at somepoint! :)

  21. The sheer quantity of those frozen treats just struck me as hilarious and I HAD to take a picture. I used my cell phone. But yes, blogging has added a whole other dimension to my life--and a few odd stares along the way. That's okay.

    A. was enthralled by her HEB buddy buck and waiting anxiously to finish so she could go the the claw machine and *win* stickers.

  22. Hahaha! I group my groceries into categories at checkout, too! I'm loving that you took a photo to document. I need to remember to do that more often!
