So It Won't Make the Bestseller List

That's okay. I am just giddy to have been published.
Granted, it's self-published and only one copy is in print, it's still MY book.

That's right, I did it. I published my blog through Blurb.com.

Alert the media.

  1. How long did it take to get your blog formatted and published. I am dreading the task, but know the longer I wait the more I'll have to add! Take care and hope your memorial day is perfect!

  2. How cool is that? I am so out of touch I did not even know this could be done. I am going to have to check into it.
    Blessings,

  3. I love using blurb. I use Asukabook for photo clients, but it costs 10x as much and you can't do as many pages.
p.s. thanks for visiting my new blog--maybe your "Monthly Special" challenges will become a book one day, too.

  4. Michelle: I worked on it off and on for a couple of days. I kept it fairly plain and simple, no frills. It covers a little over a year of blogging, 300+ posts. I am excited to soon have a hard copy of my blog, especially since I'm not scrapbooking like I used to.

  7. Lelly: I know! I kept telling myself that the goal was to get it done so that it could be printed. I did not let myself get caught up in the frou-frou like I normally would. I am focusing on having a hard copy on my shelf, even if it's not too cutified (big deal for me).

  8. I love how you said to Lelly that you didn't let yourself get caught up in the frou-frou. And you're totally RIGHT! Just having the book on your shelf is better than having a half-finished, but cute, project that is never finished! Lesson for ME, here.

  9. Thanks Crystal! It's funny, after oodles of half-finished projects maybe I'm finally learning something.

With my blog book, I started to move things around and change up the basic layouts. I soon realized with 300+ posts, I would be tweaking it forever. I allowed myself to go with the basic layout that the blurb wizard thing selected. So freeing. So not like the *old* me.

  10. Congrats - it feels good to see your words in print (and HOLD them, instead of just see them on the screen, doesn't it?! :)

  12. Silken: What's neat is that you can do a book about an event or something specific and publish it. I also made a small one about the day trip to Brenham.
