SPT: The Return

Lelly recently asked what was new.

I thought about that for a moment and listened to the crickets chirping inside my head.

Today, a day in which my most productive moments were taking Annelise to school, folding laundry and then picking her up from school (see above photo), is probably not the best day for me to answer that question.

I'd be embarrassed to admit I've been obsessively reading the Harry Potter series (I'm now on #4), watching past seasons of 24 through Netflix (that show is like crack, well, if I actually knew what crack was like; okay, it's like sugar, coffee and chips and salsa), pilfering Easter candy and treats from Annelise's basket (she may become suspicious any moment now) and perfecting other sloth-like behaviors.

I'm so not proud.

Oh, and yeah...I have a half marathon to slog my way through (preferably without collapsing) in T-minus 4 days and counting. And my training lately...wait...are you supposed to train for these things?

Gulp.

Be sure to visit Lelly's blog to see the return of more SPTs.

  1. Yes, watching 24 back to back is just like sugar, coffee, and chips and salsa (hey, that doesn't seem to roll off the tongue as easily as the word crack, does it?) You make me laugh, Holly. Good luck on your half-marathon...you are gonna rock it.

  2. If I can "run" a beast of a half marathon with literally zero training, I'm confident that you'll do great, in spite of your harry potter/24 marathons. YOU CAN DO IT!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

  3. I like this picture of you! I am also obsessively making my way through the Harry Potter series, and also on book 4! Have you read it before? I haven't, this is my first time, and wow, nothing else has gotten done! Good luck with your run -- I'm sure you'll surprise yourself and do great!

  5. Sheesh, I am a blog-slacker and a lame blog friend! I declare the turning of a new leaf TODAY because I miss you! I will cheer your slogging from miles away. My training is pathetic. Argh, I am like Miss Piggy in a running skirt and every bit as slow as that image implies.

I love your hair! (As always.) And I am mightily envious of your killer brows--as always.

  6. Oh Holly, Holly, Holly! Have you forgotten that we are all waiting for you to give us your LOST thoughts? Where is your sense of responsibility? Forget the laundry and those other petty things. This is LOST we are talking about, and there are only 6 more new episodes. Pull yourself together, woman!! LOL I've been a sloth myself lately. Sleeping too late after the kids go to school. Playing too many FB games, etc. I need a job! Good luck with your Marathon.

  13. Thanks y'all about the photo--I really like how it washes out any and all facial flaws. :)

Kelly: I'm still in the early stages of Harry #4--I love it--but the sheer heft of the book is somewhat intimidating. JKR sure had a lot to say. I had read the first two years ago and then quit. Now I feel the need to work my way through the whole series in one fell swoop.

Rhonda: I know, I feel though I am in some sort of LOST mourning period, in advance. It's making the recaps hard to write. I'm savoring each episode though!

Thanks also for all the race well-wishes! My supper of Oreos last night probably is not considered carbing up. How sad.

  15. Good luck tomorrow (or is it sunday...)! As for the oreo comment, I had one of my best runs after a dinner of several cupcakes, so you may be surprised! Don't forget the chocolate milk! :)

  16. Aw, thanks Jill!

Anne, your comment made me feel MUCH better. Maybe the oreos will give me a PR.
